Sinuous
is an occasional furniture collection
designed by award winning designer Charles
Sutton.
The furniture takes on the appearance
of life in motion through a variety of
unexpected twists and turns, waves and
curls. Tension between these twisting
shapes and an ordered symmetry of classic
proportions results in a kind of wildness
in what were assumed to be passive forms.
Hand-built and crafted, artists apply
rare arts such as hand-cut inlaid brass
boullework, figurative marquetry, and
geometric parquetry patterns of exotic
wood veneers. Luxe materials include globally
sourced, rare, solid woods and veneers;
slabs and slices of marbles, granite,
and alabaster; and metalwork hand-forged
in the company’s foundry.
Man gave furniture human parts. Sinuous
lets them dance - and in full costume.
